
Fatima Yasmin Bokhari is a legal practitioner, trainer and researcher with 15 years of experience specializing in criminal justice reform, rule of law and human rights, with a focus on increasing access to justice for marginalized groups and legally empowering them.
Currently serving as Chief Executive Officer at Musawi, Fatima has been involved in leadership and advisory capacities with international and national organizations as well as Federal and Provincial governments. She has conducted training for diverse stakeholders, including parliamentarians, police, and prosecutors on critical areas such as citizen-centric, trauma-informed governance and Pakistan’s international and national human rights commitments. Prior to her tenure at Musawi, Fatima was based with the Open Society Justice Initiative (OSJI) in New York and Budapest. Her work there centered on national security and criminal justice reform in Europe and Central Asia, emphasizing strategic litigation and advocacy to ensure compliance with international and regional human rights frameworks.
Fatima holds a Masters’ of Law (LL.M.) from Harvard Law School and an LL.M. in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of London. She is also an Executive Committee Member of the Asia Alliance Against Toture, a regional network working to prevent and pursue accountability for torture and other serious human rights violations in Asia.
